Humboldt Pro-Life was founded in 1972, subsequent to the legalization of abortion in California, and just prior to the legalization of abortion throughout the United States.
Over the years we have published a newsletter; provided educational booths at the local fairs; supported the formation of Grandma's House, a home for girls experiencing a crisis pregnancy (operating for about 10 years, until Grandma Rita retired); supported the formation of the Crisis Pregnancy Center, which is now the Pregnancy Care Center of the North Coast; established a Memorial for the Unborn at St. Bernard Cemetery in Eureka; conduct the annual Respect Life Oratory Contest; and responded to numerous requests for pro-life information from students, teachers, churches, and the media.
Our current mission is to support all efforts in our community leading to a greater respect for all human life, from the moment of fertilization until natural death. We hope this website will be a helpful tool in publicizing current local pro-life events and resources.
Please review our Links and Services page for links to pregnancy care services in English and in Spanish, post-abortion counseling, and links to other websites for general pro-life information, news, and materials.
